ANDRÉS PEREIRA PAZ, BERLIN BIENNALE & FUTURE GENERATION ART PRIZE FINALIST

Crisis gallery, from Lima, announces that Andrés Pereira Paz has been shortlisted for the Future Generation Art Prize. Selected from over 11,700 entries by artists across almost 200 countries, the final list includes 21 artists and artist collectives. Shortlisted artists will be commissioned to create the new works on view in exhibitions at the Pinchuk Art Centre in Kyiv and the Venice Biennale.

Futhermore, Andrés will be participating in the 11th edition of the Berlin Biennale. Curated by María Berríos, Renata Cervetto, Lisette Lagnado, and Agustín Pérez Rubio, the exhibition will explore modes of articulating solidarity, vulnerability, and resistance. Each work will aim to materialize the complicated beauty of life amidst the turbulent times we inhabit. The biennale will be taking place from September 5–November 1.

 

Andrés Pereira Paz (1986, La Paz) lives and works in Berlin. His work focuses on the tensions behind the construction of identity as a non-statistical process. His recent exhibitions include: ‘’Survival kit’’ at the Latvian Center of Contemporary art, in Riga, Latvia; ‘’Radio Carabuco’’ at Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin; ‘’Salón Santa Cruz’’ at Kiosko Gallery, Santa Cruz de la Sierra; ‘’Blue Eyes’’ at The Ryder Gallery, London; ‘’Rayo Purita’’ at Crisis Gallery, Lima; ‘’I AM HE AS YOU ARE SHE AS YOU ARE ME” at House of Egorn, Berlin; “The Terrestrial Triangle” at the Cerrillos Cultural Center, Santiago, Chile; “Open Studios” at Gasworks London; Biennial of Contexts at the National Museum of Art, La Paz, among others.
