A PANEL OF ARTISTS AND THE COMMUNITY AT THE JUMEX MUSEUM IN MEXICO CITY

After t Memoria de autopublicación y desidencia (Memory of self-publishing and desidence) workshop held at the Jumex Museum in Mexico City, AAzufre, Fiebre ediciones y Casa del Hijo del Ahuizot -all emerging artist collectives- will dialogue with Helena Producciones, the Colombian collective founded in 1997 and based in Cali, emerged as a response of the generation that suffered the excesses and economic chaos of the 80s. The conversation will take place on Saturday 11th at the Jumex Museum.

The idea of ​​this panel is to generate a debate about the intersections between collaborative, social and community work in regards to contemporary artistic practice.

Based on the experience as artists and workshops, the panel uses as a trigger the experiences lived in Memoria de autopublicación y desidencia. The workshop was held in three different meetings-May 26, June 23 and July 21-in which each of the invited collectives were immersed in various techniques of publication and printing: screen printing, mimeograph and risography, among others. Also, the series of workshops deepened on the notions of archive, circulation and manifestos.
