LEHMANN MAUPIN TO OPEN A SEASONAL EXHIBITION SPACE IN PALM BEACH

Opening in mid-November and continuing through February 2021, the space will serve as a bridge between their global programming and community of longtime collectors, curators, and institutions in Palm Beach and South Florida.

LEHMANN MAUPIN TO OPEN A SEASONAL EXHIBITION SPACE IN PALM BEACH

Their inaugural group exhibition will feature brand new works by Hernan Bas, McArthur Binion, Liza Lou, Marilyn Minter, Angel Otero, and Erwin Wurm, all of whom have continued rigorous studio practices amidst the global pandemic and created work specifically for this Palm Beach presentation.

Since the onset of the pandemic, we’ve looked for creative ways to extend the boundaries of our physical locations in New York, Hong Kong, Seoul, and London,” explains partner Carla Camacho. “While doubling down on digital initiatives has been successful, we are acutely aware of the need for physical presentations. There was strong enthusiasm from our clients when we opened our pop-up in Aspen this summer, and we want to replicate this same energy in Palm Beach by bringing important works to the area.” Lehmann Maupin Palm Beach will be spearheaded by Camacho and project director Paige Robinson, both of whom will relocate for the winter, alongside partner Jessica Kreps.

Historically, Palm Beach has been a key regional market for our business. We have strong ties to prominent collectors in the area, including Beth Rudin De Woody who was a strong advocate for our seasonal space, not to mention our long history with important institutions in South Florida, including the Norton Museum of Art, the Pérez Art Museum Miami, The Bass, and many more,” states Kreps. “We are seizing the opportunity to open a physical space during a time of year when collectors from all over the country are choosing to spend the winter months in Florida.”
